Dixie Caverns campground was a pleasant experience for us. Even though the caverns have been closed until further notice, due to Covid 19.

The campground sits in a little valley surrounded by trees. When we pulled into the campground around 0930 in the morning the camp host, Morin, came to meet us. She answered any questions and helped us to find a site.

There is a small creek next to the campground that we walked to. Very pleasant to sit and listen to the water run.

Cost was around 35 a night. The campground is 10 minutes from Salem, Virginia and 20 minutes from Roanoke, Virginia.
